In the autumn of 2024 I spent 5 days at LAKE HAWEA STATION in the beautiful Southern Alps of Aotearoa/New Zealand. Joining a group of thought leaders from the diverse fields of medicine, well-being, regenerative farming, indigenous wisdom and bushcraft the theme of the connection spoke to the sacred, the soil and the soul.
It was an extraordinary synchronistic meeting with world-renown scientist and md, Zach Bush, (Zach is best known for his advocacy around regenerative farming, microbiome science and planetary wellness) that led to this initial invitation. Subsequently I was invited by my now dear sister and good friend Lauren “the Body Whisperer” Roxburgh (@loroxburgh) and Geoff and Justine Ross and the team from their amazing regenerative farm at Lake Hawea Station (@lakehaweastationliving) to be part of their first SOIL TO SOUL Summit.
The group included:
Lauren Roxburgh @loroxburgh
Lake Hawea Station Living – Geoff and Justine Ross @lakehaweastationliving
Zach Bush MD @zachbushmd
Kelly Noonan Gores @healwithkelly
Hamiora Gibson @sam_the_trap_man
Whaia Creation @whaia_creation

The aim of the Summit was to gather a diverse group of experts to discuss the relationship between the health of our soils, the health of our bodies, the health of our planet and the power of human expression as true nature.
The Summit was a life-changing experience. Grounded in science and biology and drenched in sound and soul, in health and healing, in grief, in remembrance, in celebratory food from the land on which we stood, we each spoke to the connection between the language of the body as a sacred vessel and the language of the Earth as a living consciousness.
Bridging the worlds between science and spirituality, ecology and healing, intellect and intuition illuminated the teachings about the interconnection of what is below the soil is relative to the health of what grows above the soil - clearly showing us the perfect metaphor for life. This very statement from Geoff personally invited me into a deeper contemplation of my own humanity and divinity. As humans many of us often walk around this planet at times with little regard and not a lot of care and intention and we are clearly seeing the end result of this dissonance – as part of the greater whole, in the spirit of radical self-honesty, I had to admit I had on occasion been one of them.
From the collapse of our global ecosystems to the degeneration of our governmental systems, the open questioning of science and spirituality as truths, the disruption to family dynamics and devastating mental health issues arising exponentially, we are clearly in crisis modus operandi. However, there comes a time, and it’s now, as we all move toward or away from the terror of what is happening in our global collective and take full responsibility physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and energetically. We all contemplated deeply:
What to do?
How to respond?
Who have I become as a result of the damage caused? Can/will I have hope?
Who can I be in the future to create the shift?
Can/will I be one who can contribute to greater healing on a planetary scale?
As we all merged deeper into the consciousness of the land and simultaneously into the consciousness of our souls, I recognised the enormous human capacity to co-create an infinite frequency shift when a small number of people gather with a pure intention of awakening something within ourselves and each other. I saw again how the ripple effect is felt, not only in the community but across the wider sphere universally.
When you listen deeply to the cells of the Earth, to the cosmos, to the people that tend the land, the people in the arena, it brings us forward in a way that is humbling and activating. It addresses the sensitivities of being human and the power that exists within each of us to be restorative, renewal and regenerative and in alignment with our true nature and the natural world.
The remembering - that this, in its very nature is Universal Law.
The richness and the beauty that came in the sounds of silence, communing in deep presence with the land and the one standing in front of us, the aliveness and vulnerability that arose in reconnecting to our bodies was the contribution we were all being asked to be. We came in peace and anticipation, we left in peace and prosperity.
The journey with this group of pioneering souls was more than a summit and an adventure – it was a gateway to a new understanding and a new way of being – a Homecoming to Her. We walked the ground, listened to the pulse of the Earth, and remembered what it is to live in resonance and with whole-hearted reverence to something so much greater than 'I". Returning with my heart expanded, my purpose deepened and knowing that the future is already seeded in the living intelligence of this earth, my only job was to continue to listen and take instruction from HER.
A part excerpt from a poem “The Invitation” written for the soil2soul summit.
I see nature as communion
In our souls sacred union
She’s asking us to tune in
Listen to what she has to say
She speaks through moon and milky way
- the sun that follows night as day
All of Her is offered free
It’s time to honour Her as We
Joining together in community consciousness
It's this that creates unity consciousness
Co-creating immunity consciousness
